During the punishment phase of the trial Wednesday evening, a former neighbor and another family member testified that they were also sexually abused as young children by Holbrook when he was around 17 years old.
One relative said her children were not allowed around the man because he sexually abused her when she was young.
As an adult, Holbrook also cut his father when he held a knife to the older man’s throat during an family argument and stabbed his brother-in-law when he intervened, causing minor injuries, family members testified.
Holbrook has remained in the Parker County Jail since his arrest last December.
Testimony in the punishment phase of the trial concluded Wednesday evening and closing arguments were expected to begin Thursday morning.
Holbrook faces up to 25–99 years or life imprisonment on the continuous sexual abuse of a young child offense.
