Modification in any organization requires careful consideration, research and working together as a team for the good of the whole. My desire for the college is continued growth in academics, programs, employment and service to the tax payers. During these economic times of continuous cuts from the state and federal level, it is very important for a board to work together to protect what the tax payers have already paid for, as well as the daily events that occur which impact the present and the future. Sometimes change is good, and sometimes it’s not so good. I strongly believe in presenting ideas and considering ideas presented. If I feel if a trustee unreservedly forces change, just because they are in a position to do so, could result in huge cost. The cost must be absorbed somewhere and possible break something that isn’t broken. One of my viewpoint’s is a bit simple and old fashioned, but I think if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Part of my job as a trustee is to listen to the tax payers that elect me and be a voice for them.

What is your reasoning for running for board of trustees? I feel that it is time I start giving back to our community and Weatherford College has always had a soft spot in my heart.

Are there any changes you’d like to see implemented if you serve? Growth for the betterment of the college will bring inevitable change. During my forty year plus tenure at the helm of our auto group I’ve experienced change in many forms. I believe this will be an asset in any and all decisions. By approaching decisions with sound business practice and common sense, I’m certain anything can be accomplished.
