TOTS’ fall mini season begins with ‘Bad Seed’

Theatre Off The Square presents the second production of their fall mini season, “Bad Seed.”

The play is written by Maxwell Anderson, from William March’s novel, and presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc. The psychological thriller is directed by Wally Jones, with Hank Minor and Laurie Jones as assistant directors and Kathy Manning as stage manager. The show begins Friday, Oct. 18, and runs weekends through Nov. 3.

The scene is a small southern town where Colonel and Christine Penmark live with their 8-year-old daughter, Rhoda. On the surface, little Rhoda Penmark is sweet, charming, full of old-fashioned graces, loved by her parents and admired by all her elders. Several disturbing incidents cause Rhoda’s mother to have an uneasy feeling about her.

Christine’s quiet, idyllic world is changed as she begins to uncover secrets long buried by her subconscious and unlocks the mystery of a murder that hits a little too close to home.

Members of the cast include 9-year-old Sierra Cherryhomes as Rhoda, with Jordyn Mahar and Andrew Justice playing her parents. Other cast members include Rebecca Young, Chuck Hudson, Jon R. Kruse, Holly Kiehn, Scott Campbell, Naomi Henley, Ray Shannon, Joe Ray, Paul Kiehn and Brian Smith.

Please join us for three weekends of a thrilling drama like none other at TOTS starting Friday, Oct. 18, and running through Sunday, Nov. 3. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Theatre Off The Square, the only live theatre in Weatherford, is located at 114 N. Denton St.  Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for seniors (60 years and older), students and children under school age. Matinee tickets are $11 for all ages and no other discounts apply.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $12 at the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce. Reserved seating is available and recommended by calling 817-341-8687.
