With the Parker County Hospital District and others providing an increasing number of immunizations locally, monthly immunization clinics offered by the Texas Department of State Health Services won’t be offered any longer in Weatherford.
The state had been offering a shot clinic at the Harberger Hill Community Center on the first Thursday of each month but due to a lack of demand, officials determined that the clinic was not an efficient use of staff time.
“There was just not a lot of participation in the clinic,” Texas Department of State Health Services spokesman Chris Van Deusen said, adding that the Parker County Hospital District seems to be meeting a lot of the area vaccination needs.
There are also quite a few vaccines for children providers, as well, according to Van Deusen.
Clinics run by the state health services in Springtown and Mineral Wells will continue to be offered and the health department can be reached at (940) 325-7844.
