Hudson Oaks city admin out

Weatherford Democrat

After declining to renew the contract of former City Administrator Sheri Campbell-Husband in March, the Hudson Oaks city council Thursday named Assistant City Administrator Patrick Lawler as interim city administrator. Campbell-Husband’s last day with the city was last week, Mayor Pat Deen said.

Under the terms of the two-year contract expiring Nov. 12, the city was required to give Campbell-Husband six months notice if the city did not plan to renew her contract.

In order to meet the May 12 notification deadline, the council considered the issue during the March 28 meeting and made the decision not to renew, Deen said.

“Sheri was here for four and a half years,” Deen said, adding that the city accomplished many good things under Campbell-Husband’s leadership.

The council wanted to go in a different direction but was pleased with her performance and what she was able to accomplish, Deen said.

“We wish her the best in her future endeavors and career,” Deen said.

On Thursday, the city council approved a settlement agreement.

The agreement included a resignation letter from Campbell-Husband and compensation from the city for the remaining seven months of the contract, according to Deen.

Campbell-Husband received an annual salary of around $91,000, Deen estimated.

Lawler, who also served as interim city administrator about five years ago, will have oversight of the city until the position is filled permanently, Deen said.

“We’re in capable hands with Patrick Lawler,” Deen said.

An item has been placed on the council’s Thursday agenda allowing council members to discuss how and when they will fill the position.

A voicemail left for Campbell-Husband Monday afternoon was not returned by deadline.
