Missing girl found in Hill County

By CHRISTIN COYNE

A Parker County girl who was reported missing a week ago after leaving a Weatherford school April 24 was located safe Thursday in Hill County, north of Waco.

Abigail Rubio, 15, reportedly approached a constable, leading the Hill County Sheriff’s Office to call Parker County authorities shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday.

Rubio was reported to be in good condition and is believed to have left her home and school willingly, with no foul play suspected.

The girl was expected to be questioned by law enforcement about her disappearance.

“We are pleased to discover she has been located and will be with her family soon,” Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said.

The girl’s family was notified and reported to be on their way to pick up the teen Thursday afternoon.
