A Parker County man was arrested after, deputies say, he assaulted a woman with a hammer and then told deputies he would injure the woman again.
The Parker County Sheriff’s Office was called to a domestic disturbance in the the 3200 block of State Highway 199 West Wednesday, with a witness reporting a man assaulting his girlfriend with a hammer.
Deputies found a 47-year-old woman with bleeding cuts on her forehead, arms, hand and feet, and redness and swelling around her eye and cheekbone, according to a deputy’s report. LifeCare was reportedly called to the scene due to the extent of the facial trauma.
Gordon Flanagan, 53, reportedly told deputies that he threw a hammer at the RV camper, smashing it through the glass and hitting the woman in the head, according to the complaint.
“Flanagan further stated that next time her would ‘hit her again’ and we [deputies] would need to bring the ‘meat wagon,’” the deputy wrote.
Flanagan was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, family violence.
He was released from the Parker County Jail Friday on $20,000 bond.
