Spring sports league registration is cranking up in Weatherford.
Adult flag football and softball leagues start game play in the next few weeks. For more information on any of the sports, contact the Weatherford Parks and Recreation office at 817-598-4124 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Registration for the new league runs Jan. 14-25 at the Parks and Recreation Office, 119 Palo Pinto St. and must be done in person. Cost is $275 per team with a 14-player maximum per team. Late registration will be conducted Jan. 28-30 at $325 per team.
Games will be played Tuesday evening at McGratton Park, 645 N. Main St., beginning Feb. 5. The season will consist of eight games with the top six teams advancing to the playoffs. Athletic and Aquatic Manager Tyler Sievert said because the league is new, there is no limit to the amount of teams.
A coaches meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Cherry Park Community Building. The league rule book will be discussed and coaches will vote on any changes they wish to make.
The rulebook can be viewed in advance at www.teamsideline.com/weatherford. All teams are requested to have a representative in attendance.
Registration begins Feb. 11 at a cost of $275 per team. Late registration is Feb. 25-27 at a cost of $325 per team. Spots are first come, first served based on full payment. No spots will be saved.
Games start the week of March 4 with men’s and co-ed teams playing in open, church and leisure divisions. Each league must have at least five teams playing an 8-10 game schedule. Open and co-ed leagues will also have a playoff system.
An introductory co-ed T-ball league for 3 and 4 year olds will begin with in-person registration Feb. 4-March 8 at the parks and recreation office.
