A Springtown woman was arrested Wednesday, charged with helping arrange for the violent robbery of a man she’d requested a loan from.

A 55-year-old man reported on Christmas Day that he was ambushed while sitting in his truck in his driveway in the 1700 block of Flatrock Road in Azle.

Two men he did not know reportedly smashed his window and struck him above the left eye five to seven times with what he believed to be a cane, according to a Parker County sheriff’s report.

As the victim was lying face down in his driveway, the men took prescription medication and the victim’s wallet, including two debit cards, a credit card and check, according to the sheriff’s office.

The extent of the man’s injuries was not clear.

Investigators say they believe an 18-inch pry bar was used to hit the man before the two suspects left in a dark-colored truck.

Rachelle Deann Martin, 23, was arrested Wednesday on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated robbery.

Martin had earlier requested to borrow money from the man, according to the sheriff’s office.

Martin remained in the Parker County Jail Friday evening with bond set at $40,000.

Additional charges in the case are pending, according to Parker County Deputy Danie Huffman.
