More quakes recorded

A 16th and 17th earthquake, both minor, in northeast Parker County shook the area Tuesday.

A 3.0 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter in the southeast part of Azle shook the area around 8:30 a.m., followed by a 2.8 quake east of Springtown around 2 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Two other earthquakes, magnitudes 3.3 and 2.7, also rattled the area Monday.

The minor earthquakes, ranging between 2.2 and 3.6 in magnitude, have been occurring around the Azle, Reno, Springtown and Eagle Mountain Lake areas since Nov. 5, and scientists are looking into why the sudden outbreak.
