WILLOW PARK — Nonprofits from throughout Parker County will have the opportunity to explain what they do and get their name out there as part of the Third Annual Nonprofit Showcase Luncheon June 6.
East Parker County Chamber of Commerce’s Woman’s Business Alliance is sponsoring the luncheon set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tucker Red’s in Willow Park. Kay Huse with the EPCCC says the event already has a full slate of 25 nonprofits scheduled to attend.
“As the chamber, we want to reach out to both retail and non-profits alike,” Huse said. “It’s a chance for nonprofits to get their name in front of a group of people where members do a lot of volunteering. It’s all about recruiting, recruiting, recruiting.”
As part of the event, each organization will be given a set amount of time to discuss who they are and what they do for the area as well as their needs at the present time. The top three needs of each organization are already on the EPCCC website at www.eastparkerchamber.com, Huse said.
Each nonprofit will also have an information table staffed to answer questions and accept donations. Those that would like to donate but cannot attend can drop off donations at the EPCCC office, 100 Chuck Wagon Trail in Willow Park or Trinity Christian Academy, 4954 E. I-20 Service Road South in Willow Park prior to the event. Huse said that many people have heard of organizations but are uncertain as to what they do.
Some of the nonprofits scheduled to attend include: Aledo Children’s Advocats, Alzheimer’s Association, Camp Fire First Texas, Careity Foundation, Center of Hope, Grace House Ministries, Lena Pope Home, Parker County Senior Center, Parker Paws, Ride for Heroes, Trinity Habitat for Humanity of Parker County and United Way of Parker County.
While the WBA is sponsoring the luncheon, the public at large is invited to attend. Tickets are $15 for WBA members and $20 for non-members. Register online at www.eastparkerchamber.com or call the East Parker County Chamber office at 817-441-7844 for more information.
