Trunk-or-Treats

Several public trunk-or-treat events are planned in the area as well:

• Weatherford/Parker County Animal Shelter is offering a Trunk-or-Treat event Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the shelter, 403 Hickory Lane, in Weatherford. This safe, family friendly event provides a chance to get an early start on the candy gathering and also a chance to see all the shelter’s animals and possibly go home with a new friend. The October special of all black dogs and orange cats for a $25 adoption fee, including spay/neutering, vaccinations and microchip, is still ongoing. Children and pets are encouraged to come by in costume.

• Central Christian Church, 1602 S. Main St., invites the public to join them the night before Halloween for Trunk-or-Treat. The event takes places 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday. There will be food, games, hay rides, bounce houses, prizes and, of course, treats.

• Community Baptist Church’s fall festival takes place 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at 1101 W. Ball St., in Weatherford. There will be games, candy, face painting, food, puppet show and small door prizes.

• First Baptist Church of Weatherford’s 36th annual fall festival is 5-8 p.m. Thursday. The theme is “At the Circus.” The main festival, held in the church’s Family Life Center, will be host to games, food and fun. In the church’s fellowship hall, just adjacent to the Family Life Center, a room of games for children age 6 and under will be included. The activities to be included are games with prizes given and various activities free for the entire family. A concession stand will provide food and drink items at reasonable prices. This year some nice door prizes courtesy of some Weatherford businesses will be given. More information may be obtained by calling 817-594-5457.
