E.J. ‘Papa’ Saulter

E.J. “Papa” Saulter, 77, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at a hospital in Fort Worth.

Elmer Jackson Saulter was born May 1, 1932, in Boyd, son of the late Willie William and Willie Powers Saulter. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and as a self-employed construction worker. Mr. Saulter was proud to be a deacon in the Rock of Helps Church.

E.J. was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Shirley Ann Saulter of Aledo; sons, Larry Gene Saulter and Barry Lynn Saulter, both of Aledo; daughter, Dodie Lindley and husband, Delmer of Millsap; seven grandchildren; brothers, Warren and Dan Saulter; sister, Armilda Pierce; a large loving church family and a host of friends.

Funeral is 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, at White’s Chapel of Memories. Interment is in Annetta Cemetery.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
