Althea Faye Burkhalter

Althea Faye Burkhalter, 94, of Fort Worth, died Monday evening, Sept. 8, 2008, in a Fort Worth nursing facility.

Born Feb. 20, 1914, to Melvin and Cornelia Pritchard in Whitt, Texas, she was a resident of Parker County for many years. She was a homemaker and a graduate of Peaster High School.

Althea was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, T. J Echols, Paul Echols and Wiley Burkhalter; daughters, Joyestell Echols and Avonell Marvin; son, Paul Donald Echols; six brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Ann Henderson of Watauga; six grandchildren, Steve Hill, Stan Hill, Dean Hill, Tim Henderson, Tonya McEndree and Tiffany Comstock; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Pearl Williams of Weatherford and Evelyn Hobbs of Weatherford.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment in Dilbeck Cemetery.
