James Earl Austin, 66, of Weatherford, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 3, 2014, in a Fort Worth hospital.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in the Galbreaith-Pickard Chapel. Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Dec. 6, 1947, in Fort Worth and was a resident of Weatherford for many years. Mr. Austin was a retired professor, served as a captain in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include daughters Amy Ragle and husband, Rudy, of Weatherford, and Emily Tucker and husband, Wes, of Burleson; son, Aaron Austin and wife, Lachel, of Weatherford; mother, Mary Sue Austin; brother, Kent Austin, of Kennedale; ten grandchildren, Gracie, Grayson, Riley, Austin, Reese, Ryan, Ashlee, Katie, Allie and Erin; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Olivia.
Memorials may be sent to Parker County Outreach Program or the Wounded Warrior Project.
