Doris Addell Lindsey, 92, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Holland Lake Nursing Center in Weatherford.
Service is 3 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth.
Addell was born Sept. 4, 1920, in Dry Prong, La. Her family moved to Texas when she was a young girl. Addell retired from First Baptist Church of Forest Hill as church secretary, where she was an active member for 40 years. She was also a Sunday school teacher at Forest Hill for many years. Addell and her husband, John, moved to Weatherford in 1990, where she was an active member and Sunday school teacher at Emanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Carolynn Carver and husband, Bill, of Granbury, and Linda Swihart and husband, Steve, of Weatherford; son, J.W. Lindsey Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Keller; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wylie and Irene Mitchell; her husband of 63 years, John Lindsey; son, Keith Lindsey; and her brother Vernon Mitchell.
