Deane was born on Aug. 17, 1931, in Weatherford. He married the love of his life, Bernice, in 1950 and together they shared 59 years of marriage.
Deane’s legacy as a committed educator was demonstrated by more than 30 years as a coach, teacher and principal at Aledo High School. While doing so, he was a role model to many for his character, work ethic and strong leadership skills.
He enjoyed quail hunting, watching Texas Rangers baseball and listening to country music. He was a committed member of First Baptist Church Aledo for more than 50 years, where he enjoyed potluck with his friends, time at the coffee bar, and his Sunday school class. His greatest joy was time spent with family.
Deane served the Lord well and was a wise, respected and well-loved leader of his family, his church and his community. He will be remembered for his legacy of faith and diligence, his passionate love for his wife and family, and his “never give up” attitude.
