Jean Bruton Greengard, 93, died Dec. 25, 2012, in a Weatherford nursing home.
Graveside service is 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Perrin Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 16, 1919, in Fort Hoover, Okla., the daughter of Richard Jessie Sr. and Lucinda Peerie Bruton. She married Charles Greengard in September 1998 in Weatherford. She lived in Weatherford since 1999 and in Mineral Wells prior to that. She was a member of Hilltop Church of Christ and a homebound member of Northside Baptist Church. She was a past member of Eleventh Avenue Church. She worked as a waitress for 50 years and was working in the Baker Hotel when it closed. She remembered waiting on Lyndon B. Johnson and many other celebrities. She loved playing dominos, and when she played Mexican Train she got so excited that her great-granddaughter wanted to wash her mouth out with soap.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Leslie and Marleta Hall, of Weatherford; grandchildren, Leston Hall and his fiancé, Brenda Busken, both of Las Vegas, Suletta Leatherwood and husband, Gerald “Cowboy,” of Weatherford; 11 great-grandchildren; many step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margariuete Bruton, of Arlington; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in February 2000; and all her siblings.
