Lynda Craighead Wood

— Lynda Craighead Wood, 69, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012.

Lynda was born May 24, 1943, to Ralph Theodore and Roberta Gaden Craighead in Woodward, Oklahoma. She worked as an administrative assistant for Bank One and later for AmeriCredit. Lynda was a member of First United Methodist Church of Weatherford. She was a circle member at FUMC and a board member of the Parker County American Cancer Society and D.A.R.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph T. Craighead and Roberta Gaden Craighead; and nephew, Clay Craighead.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Leonardo Taylor of Weatherford; son, Neil Wood of Weatherford; grandchildren, Carissa Wood, Jessica Wood, Jeremy Taylor and Shelby Taylor, all of Weatherford; brothers, Ted Craighead and wife, Odalee, of Mutual, Okla., and Chris Craighead and wife, Paige, of Weatherford, Okla.; and friend, Stanley Johnston of Weatherford; and many more loving family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Weatherford. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Brumfield Cemetery, Seiling, Okla.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Lynda’s honor if desired.
