Glen Toles, 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 31, 2014.
Graveside service is 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Annetta Cemetery in Aledo,conducted by Pastor Red Waller. Glen’s family will greet friends and loved ones 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford.
He was born in Lamesa, Texas, on Sept. 29, 1938, to Thomas C. and Annie V. Toles. After graduating from Lamesa High School in 1957, Glen joined the Lamesa Police Department. He married Darlene Menzer on Oct. 2, 1964. In 1966, he applied and was accepted to the Texas Department of Public Safety. After graduating from the DPS, he was stationed in Hereford, Texas. In 1969, Glen and his family moved to Weatherford, where he served in Parker County.
While working, Glen attended Baylor and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978. Glen worked as a DPS officer until Oct. 24, 1979, when he was hurt and permanently disabled in the line of duty. In 1981, Glen retired from the DPS. After retiring, Glen worked doing his two favorite hobbies, woodworking and ranching. Glen also loved the Masonic Lodge. He was raised to a Master Mason in 1973 at Phoenix Lodge No. 273 and later became a 32-degree Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner at the Moslah Temple in Fort Worth.
Glen loved Jesus, his family, law enforcement, woodworking, his cows and his dogs, Sully and Cricket. He was also very proud to be a Mason.
Glen is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughter, Angela Toles; sons, Trooper and Nick Toles and daughters-in-law, Sharlon and Dusty Toles, all of Weatherford; five grandchildren, Katie, Payton, Kylor, Caleb and Maegan Toles, all of Weatherford; sister, Carol Schneider, of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents T.C. and Annie Toles; his brother, Robert Lee Toles; and his sister, Willie Jo Tucker.
