GP (Tommy) Thompson

GP (Tommy) Thompson, 89, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, in Weatherford.

A memorial service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

Tommy was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Dallas to Marion and Lucille Thompson. He was a longtime resident of Weatherford. Tommy was in the Navy during World War II. He married the love of his life, Patricia Pate, on Sept. 29, 1956, in Denton. Tommy managed supply resources for Bell Helicopter for 26 years.

He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Patricia Thompson, of Weatherford; daughters, Cheryl Durazo and husband, Victor, of El Paso, and Kathy Brown and husband, Mark, of Weatherford; son, Bruce Thompson, formally from Honolulu, Hawaii, now residing in Weatherford; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces; sister, Emma Jean Linsteadt and husband, JD, of Commerce; and half-brother, David Roman.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Becky Jean Munoz; parents, Marion and Lucille Thompson; sister, June Evelyn Beck; and brother, Franklin Clinton Thompson.
