Patsy Hooks

WEATHERFORD – Patsy Hooks, 65, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, with her loving family at her side.

Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N. Main St., Weatherford. Interment will be private. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.

Patricia Ann Landon was born Dec. 2, 1948, the only child of Rey and Merna Harrison Landon, in Fort Worth, where she grew up in the Poly area.

Patsy attended West Texas A&M University and graduated with a master’s degree in Education from Texas Christian University. She met and married the love of her life, Dennis Hooks, on Aug. 7, 1981, in Cleburne. Patsy was a member of the Bush Legacy-Republican Women’s; Parker County Women’s and Newcomers; Taste of Parker County, past chair; Rotary Club; Parker County Health Foundation, past chair; supporter of Weatherford ISD Education Foundation; Weatherford-Parker County Animal Shelter Advisory Group; and was a faithful member of Grace First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Dennis Hooks, of Weatherford; sons, Kip Hooks and wife, Dee Dee, and Kory Hooks and wife, Stephanie, all of Weatherford; five grandsons, Hunter Greenwood, Kayd Hooks, Jagger Hooks, Trip Hooks and Tag Hooks, all of Weatherford; cousin, Mary Mooney, of Fort Worth; and a host of loving family and friends.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of usual remembrances the family suggests donations may be made in Patsy’s memory to the Weatherford-Parker County Animal Shelter, 403 Hickory Lane, Weatherford, TX 76086, 817-598-4111.
