— Helen Ruth Daily, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2014.
Service is 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at First Baptist Church of Weatherford with Dr. David George officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
Helen was born April 8, 1942, in Benjamin, Texas, to Roy and Annie Bell Rucker. She was a longtime resident of Weatherford and member of First Baptist Church. Helen retired from the City of Azle, where she served as city secretary. She was an avid quilter and also a member of the Quilters Guild of Parker County.
She leaves behind her husband, Kenneth Daily, of Weatherford; daughter, April Vanaman and husband, Grant, of Cedar Park; step-daughter, Cindy Ann Knacksteut, of New Ulm; sons, Ronald Glen Harris, of Springtown, and Command Sgt. Maj. Rodney Harris and wife, Christina, of Virginia; seven grandchildren; sisters, Judy Rucker, of Fort Worth, and Ellen Dashney, of Portland, Ore.; and brother, Roy Gail Rucker and wife, Louise, of Springtown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the building fund at First Baptist Church of Weatherford.
