Geneva Mae Bruton

Geneva Mae Bruton, 88, of Weatherford, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, in a local care facility. 

Service was Monday, Sept. 23, at Memory Gardens. Visitation was Sunday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, which was in charge of arrangements.

Geneva was born April 29, 1925, in Mineola to Mary Ethel and Hugh Noble Mize. Geneva moved to Parker County in 1947 and was a member of North Side Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Mrs. Bruton retired from Weatherford Regional Medical Center, formerly Campbell Hospital, in 1987. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing Skip Bow. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Carolyn Rusch, Donna Bruton, Nancy Butler and husband, Ray, Robert Bruton and wife, Joyce, and Dennis Bruton and wife, Judy; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dalbert Mize and wife, Dorothy.

Mrs. Bruton is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin George Bruton; sister, Genell Johnson; and a grandson, Alan Hartley.
