She was born in Stamford on Nov. 4, 1929, to William Buford and Jenny (Clary) Whitley. She graduated from Stamford High School in 1949. She met and married Travis Paul Pamplin in 1950 and they had two children.
One of the many qualities admired in Pat was her great work ethic, which started in her parents’ cotton fields. She worked at several interesting places including Woolworth’s in Dallas at Big Town and as a truck driver for James Young’s company. She worked throughout the 1980s and 1990s as a waitress at the Iron Skillet in Petro in Weatherford. Her husband died in 1982. As a widow and with just her waitress salary, she helped raise two of her cherished grandchildren.
Patsy is survived by her beloved children, daughter, Connie Pamplin Hatfield and Travis Lloyd Pamplin and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Jill Lack Goen and husband Matt, Eric Lack and Marshel, Patricia Pamplin Nunn and husband Jarrod, and Elizabeth Pamplin Merritt and husband, Danny, all of Weatherford; five great-grandchildren, Erica Lack Morris and Jacob, Troy and Stephen Lack, Alicia Goen and Jordyn Merritt; one great-great grandson, Kaycen Morris; two sisters, Mary Whitley, of Stamford, and Joy Whitley Lowry of La Porte, Texas; one brother, Frank Whitley, of Stamford; nine loving nieces; and three nephews.
