Ellen J. Dearson

Ellen J. Dearson, 97, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at her home.

Service is 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment is 4 p.m. Wednesday in Eola Cemetery.

Emma Ellen Jones was born Oct. 23, 1915, to the late Evans and Ruth Cunningham Jones in Mills County. She met and married Harmon Dee Dearson and they spent 69 wonderful years together. Ellen and Harmon owned a furniture store in San Angelo for many years. They also owned and maintained their farm there. Ellen and Harmon moved to the Weatherford area about 15 years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include son-in-law, Delbert Meyer, of Weatherford; grandson, Carl Meyer and wife, Dawn, of Paradise; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Matthew Meyer; several great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. 

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Dee Dearson; her parents; daughter, Lenell Meyer; sisters, Ruby Jo Freeman and Vera Powell.
