Robert Thomas Middleton, 64, of Weatherford, died Feb. 25, 2014.
A celebration of Robert’s life is 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center, 1400 Texas Drive, Weatherford, TX 76086. A graveside service is 1 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
He was born June 23, 1949, in Heber Springs, Ark., to Robert Wyatt and Vesta Iris (Thomas) Middleton. Robert served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years, beginning during the Vietnam War and retiring as a captain in 1992. On May 19, 1974, while stationed at Travis AFB, Calif., he married Judy Caddle. Within the first few years they were blessed with their son, Peter, and daughter, Kimberly. Robert and Judy shared 39 wonderful years of marriage. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Robert loved horses, dogs, the cowboy life, and classic westerns. He had a knack for telling great stories and making everyone laugh. He was a devoted family man, a cowboy at heart, and deeply dedicated to his country.
Robert is survived by his wife, Judy Middleton, of Weatherford; son, Peter Middleton, of Lake Worth; daughter, Kimberly Eckhart and husband, Gerald, of Haltom City; sisters, Mary Reichardt and husband, Russell, of Richmond, Ruth Sherrer and husband, Henry, of Argyle, and Sarah Connell and husband, Julian, of Quitman, Ark.; brother, Bill Middleton and wife, Jamie, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; grandchildren, Mathew, Jordan, Jacob and Austin Eckhart; great-grandchild, Aiden Eckhart; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
His parents preceded him in death.
