J. Robert Causbie

— J. Robert Causbie, 91, of Weatherford died at home Friday, Feb. 17, following a heart attack.

Mr. Causbie was born July 23, 1920, in Kaufman County to John Robert and Myrtle Butler Causbie. He married Doris Mailloux on July 4, 1949. Mr. Causbie served in the Army Air Corps as a crew chief in World War II, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He graduated from Weatherford High School. He retired from the U.S. Post Office, where he was a rural mail carrier in Parker County, and was also retired from the Weatherford Independent School District. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 163 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4746.

Mr. Causbie was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Mailloux Causbie; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Joseph Wright of Weatherford; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Don Brawley of Lake Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Marian and Rick Maitlen of Weatherford; daughter, Theresa Causbie of Weatherford; daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Gerald Kelly of Weatherford; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20 at St. Stephen Catholic Chapel, 211 S. Main St.  

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19 at White’s Funeral Home.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice.
