Mary Elizabeth “Skipper” Pool, age 72, of Weatherford, died early Monday, July 15, 2013 in a local nursing facility.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with interment in Longcreek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the funeral home.
She was a member of the Baptist Church. Skipper was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. One of her great joys in her life was watching her children and grandchildren play baseball and softball. She spent countless hours at the ball park over the years watching them play and could be heard in the stands cheering them on. She will forever be “Softball Granny” to all who knew her. Skipper was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Dwayne Pool and her parents, Kenneth and Mary Helen Letson.
Survivors: daughters, Dana Pool Wilson and husband, Mike, of Willow Park, Carla Pool, of Weatherford, Debbie McIntyre and husband, L. D., of Wolbach, Neb., and Connie Riggel and husband, Mike, of Weatherford; sons, David Pool and wife, Wynne, of Weatherford, Chance Massengale and wife, Kat, of Wimberley, and Chad Massengale and wife, Sarah, of Nacogdoches; sister, Linda Kay Pickard and husband, Ronnie, of Weatherford; brother, Kenny Letson and wife, Pam, of Weatherford; 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
