Ronald James McLaughlin

AZLE – Ronald James McLaughlin, 58, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 4, 2013, at his residence in Azle.

Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday May 11, at Meyer Brothers Funeral Home, 6200 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, Iowa 51106. Gravesite service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Galbreaith Pickard Funeal Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Nov. 19, 1954, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Robert James and Shirley Marie McLaughlin.  Ronald was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a computer systems engineer for BNSF and a member of IBEW Union. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing and having pool parties with friends.

Survivors include his wife, Dana, of Azle; sisters, Jeanne Kierscht, of Sarasota, Fla., and Robin Johnson and husband, Pat, of Sioux City; and brothers, Danny McLaughlin and wife, Mary, of Kansas City, Mo., and R.J. McLaughlin, of Sioux City. Ronald had numerous friends, nieces and nephews and never hesitated to extend a helping hand to a friend or family member.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard McLaughlin.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Catholic Charities, 1601 Military Road, Sioux City, Iowa 51103 or Manna Storehouse, 129 E. Spring St., Weatherford, TX 76086.
