Bobby Gene Turpin, age 81, died Sunday morning, Nov. 4, 2012, at Weatherford Regional Hospital. Bobby was born, June 9, 1931 to the late Homer and Dora Turpin in Weatherford, where he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Weatherford High School in 1950 and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. After returning home, he graduated from North Texas University. Bobby was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, joining The Phoenix Lodge #275 in 1955 where he was an active member until his recent illness. He was also a member of the Moslah Shrine. Bob will be remembered as the owner of Turpin Tax Service and for numerous charitable events. He loved wood working, especially the bird houses that were given to many. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Pat and grandson Tyson Teague.
Survivors include his son, Douglas Turpin and wife Carol; daughters, Carla Bacoccini and husband Tony, and Teresa Teague; grandchildren, Sarah, Holly, Douglas and Taylor Turpin, Lindsey and Jay Boland, Amber Sorensen, Katy and Chad Slayton, and Jamie Teague; great-grandchildren, Avery and Brady Boland and Olivia Sorenson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Weatherford.
