— BONHAM – Bishop Walter Thomas “Cotton” Tidmore, 85, of Weatherford, formerly of Bonham, died Wednesday night, Sept. 11, 2013, in Bonham, Texas.

Service for Ordained Bishop Walter Thomas “Cotton” Tidmore is 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Living Word Church of God, in Bonham, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. State Bishop Wayne Dority, Bishop T.C. McIntire, Bishop Forest Bass and Bishop John Chism will officiate. Graveside service is 3 p.m. Saturday in Valliant Cemetery, Valliant, Okla., with Bishop Jerry McDowell officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wise Funeral Home, 219 W. Sam Rayburn Drive, in Bonham.

Pallbearers are David Wheeler, Tony Wheeler, Jody Wheeler, Jacob Wheeler, Josh Tidmore and Rocky Youngblood. Honorary pallbearers are Jordan Wheeler, Ethan Wheeler, Trey Wheeler, Bret Youngblood and Joel Neve.

Cotton was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Valliant, the son of William Tidmore and Mabel Henson Tidmore. He married Clarine Elizabeth Barrett on Dec. 7, 1946, in DeQueen, Ark., and she preceded him in death Feb. 14, 2012. Cotton then moved back to Weatherford and married Bonnie Clover on April 28, 2013.

He was a Church of God minister for more than 60 years, pastoring churches in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri, West Virginia and Kentucky. He was a member of the North Main Church of God in Weatherford and the Silver Threads Ministry. He was loved by so many including all children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cotton is survived by his wife, Bonnie Tidmore, of Weatherford; daughter, Judi Wheeler and husband, Larry, of Bonham; brothers, Elvis Tidmore and wife, Deborah, Carl Tidmore and wife, Sharon, Wesley Tidmore and wife, Evelyn, Wilburn Tidmore and wife, Alice, Bob Tidmore and wife, Nancy, Arvin Tidmore and wife, Frankie, and Cecil Tidmore; grandchildren, David and Kim Wheeler, Tony and Cindy Wheeler, Jody and Jenni Wheeler, Josh and Jennifer Tidmore and Garett Tidmore; great-grandchildren, Trey Wheeler, Emily and Joel Neve, Jacob Wheeler, AnnaLisa Wheeler, Jordan Wheeler, Abby Wheeler, Ethan Wheeler and Liam Tidmore; great-great-grandson, Thomas Nikon Neve; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Freddie Miller and Joyce Capers; and extended family including Bonnie’s loving children, Rocky and Lynn Youngblood, Carolyn Youngblood and Bret Youngblood; grandchildren, Amy Stevens, Dane Stevens, Andrew and Alicia Youngblood and Zachary and Shena Youngblood; great-grandchildren, Taylor Hamilton, Abbie Johnson and Jaime and Sunny Johnson; and great-great-granddaughter, Amelia Youngblood.

Cotton was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, William, Odell, Marvin, Melvin, Cecil and Alvie Tidmore; and six sisters, Lillian Hatcher, Jean Goodwin, Nellie Bruno, Bonnie Noonan, Zelma Tucker and Lotty Wilson.
