Barbara Sue Irons, 69, of Weatherford, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at her daughter’s home after a short battle with cancer.
Service is 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Silver Creek United Methodist Church, 2200 Church Road, in Azle.
Barbara was born April 19, 1944, in Depew, Okla., to Henry and Edna Barnes. Barbara moved to Texas in the ‘70s. Barbara worked many years as a legal secretary in Weatherford and Fort Worth then spent her last years as a caregiver. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Couch and husband Les; son, Thomas Irons; grandchildren, Robert Couch and wife, Katherine, and Terra Jones and husband, Derrick; great-grandchild, Austin Jones; sisters, Betty Rowlett and husband, Mike, and Luella Reeves; and brother, Vernice McElroy.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence R. Irons; companion, Richard M. Singer; and sister, Lovell Hickman.
