Melba Leota Fickling

Melba Leota Fickling, 98, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, in Fort Worth.

Service is 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment at Spring Creek Cemetery.

Melba was born April 21, 1915, in Melvin, Texas, to Samuel and Samantha Moore. She worked as a bookkeeper and an insurance agent. 

Survivors included daughters, Caroline A. Smith, of Georgetown, Glenda Plowman and husband, Doye, of Weatherford, and Jeanie Robinson and husband, Jim, of Everett, Wash.; five grandchildren, Mark Smith, Mary Carol Caldwell, Jacqueline Krenek, Chad Plowman and Todd Plowman; 12 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Bernie Smith.
