Edward Walter Murphy, 70, of Weatherford, died early Monday morning, Aug. 19, 2013, in a Fort Worth hospital.
Service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, in the Galbreaith-Pickard Chapel. Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 10, 1942, in West Monroe, La. He moved to Weatherford in 1994 from Calhoun, La. Ed was known for his amazing heart. He was loved and will be missed by many. He retired from Felts Oil last year, and he always worked hard to provide for his family. Ed grew up loving horses and he loved the rodeo.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Connie Murphy, of Weatherford; daughters, Rhonda Dobbs and husband, Tracy, of Weatherford, Melodie Murphy, of Benbrook, Debbie McWilliams and husband, Tim, of Weatherford, and Devi Ludewell, of Weatherford; sons, Jim Murphy and wife, Kim, of West Monroe, La., and Jeff Murphy and wife, Terri, of Calhoun, La.; grandchildren, Cody, Zach, Jacob, Stefanie, Chase, Bobby, Chardra, Steven, Joey Denay, Kassi, Tabor and Kaci; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Pauline Murphy; sister, Patsy Nell Murphy; and brother, Henry Clark Murphy.
