Jimmy Ray “Poppy” Wooten, age 72, of Weatherford, died Monday morning, June 23, 2014, at his residence. 

Jim was born Aug. 17, 1941, in Seymour, Texas. He was owner of Wooten’s Barber & Style, a member of the Master Barbers Association and a member of South Main Church of Christ. Poppy loved to go fishing and spend time with family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Shana Dell Allen; sister, Dorothy May Bryan; twin brother, Willie Jay Wooten; brother, Rickie Dee Wooten; mother, Viola Carlock Wooten; and father, Rillie Wooten.

Poppy is survived by his wife, Glenna Wooten, of Weatherford; daughter, April Adair and husband, Tim, of Weatherford; sons, James Wooten and wife, Lori, of Springtown, Richard Wooten, of Weatherford; sisters, Barbara J. Cook, of Seymour; Sharon Kay Heim, of Seymour; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday at South Main Church of Christ. Interment in East Greenwood Cemetery. 

Visitation 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
