COLUMN: Government rules make no sense

— The Bracken Bat Cave Meshweaver, an absolutely worthless spider, has stopped a $15 million highway project. What the ---- is a spider that was not even thought to exist good for? The sun has been rising and setting without dinosaurs, and I have no reason to believe that it will implode if a spider is not around to keep the earth rotating.

The EPA is forcing a large number of coal fired power plants to close. The environmentalists are upset about hydraulic fracking; nuclear power plants are too dangerous. Have the folks that are against the way that electricity is generated consider what us old codgers had to contend with. There is nothing that I enjoy more than reading by kerosene lamp light, sleeping under a tree in the back yard in the summer time because it was too hot to sleep in the house, or maybe you would like to put your eggs, butter, milk and other items in a bucket and lower it down in the hand dug well to keep the butter from melting and eggs from hatching.

I have been looking for a solar or wind powered tractor so I can do my spring plowing. Diesel is getting too expensive, thanks to Washington. The green energy projects have cost the nation millions of dollars. The petroleum industry has provided good paying jobs. There is a $25 billion commitment to electric car companies. Federal Financing Bank is making low cost loans, guaranteed by the Department of Energy — $8.4 billion has been loaned and the rest will be doled out before 2019. With the closing of power plants and production of electric cars there should be plenty of jobs for college graduates, hand cranking generators to charge the batteries.

For those that plan on voting for President Obama, I would like to issue you a little advice. The man is destroying this nation, slowly but surely, and if he and his czars get another four years he will beguile the ignorant. He will pass out Obama phones, more parties to promote food stamps and who knows what else he will think of to screw the middle class, all under the guise of taxing the rich. Those in Washington are the only people in America that think you can spend yourself into prosperity.

Some folks are concerned about big banks. Well, the best way to teach them a lesson is to let them go bankrupt. Letting them fail would be the best thing that could happen, and jail those that caused the failure instead of bailing them out.

Thomas Jefferson said: “The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and form of our Constitution. I am an Enemy to all banks discounting bills or notes for anything but Coin. If the American People allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the People of all their Property until their Children will wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered.” The federal reserve is the monster in our banking system. No private corporation should be bailed out with tax payer money.

P.S. Have you noticed how the First Lady’s school lunch menu is being received? More food goes in the trash than in the kids, but that’s alright, the taxpayers can afford it.
