Practicing what he preaches
Phil Robertson does practice what he preaches. He was quoted recently as saying, “You got to marry these girls when they are 15 or 16. They’ll pick your ducks.”
He began dating Marsha Kay Carroway when she was 14, got her pregnant at 15 and married her. Being four years older than her, he would have been guilty of statutory rape in Texas, but Phil and Miss Kay are happily married in Louisiana.
Recently, a Weatherford minister wrote in the Democrat: “I give God thanks for Mr. Robertson’s willingness to be bold for Christ. I pray that all of God’s people would be so willing to speak the truth in love.”
When Phil Robertson encourages adult men to go after 15 year old girls, he is not being bold for Christ. He is being bold for sex. He is not speaking the truth in love. He is speaking about his lust for female children.
Those who see Phil Robertson as a bastion of morality amaze me with their lack of logic. And while I never go out into the woods and blast away at skunks, snakes, nutria, beaver, etc., just for the fun of killing animals like Phil Robertson does, I will load the old shotgun if any adult men come poking around when my granddaughters turn 15.
