I truly enjoyed Sally Sexton’s story on the two girls who rescued the little puppies from the side of the road (“Puppy Love: girls rescue four young litter mates,” July 26).
How some person could just dump those helpless little dogs is heinous, but that’s not the point of this letter. My point is the wonderful actions of the two girls and a quote from one of the girls, Tristian. It just made my day – then and now. Her statement: “When we got them to the house and had them all together, they rejoiced at seeing each other again and ate lots of food.”
That was so sweet and innocent, and it helped to remind me that despite the ugliness of some actions, like dumping those poor dogs on the side of the road, that beauty and good is still out there.
Picturing the little puppies jumping and playing with each other and rejoicing at seeing each other again, will bring a smile to me every time I think of it. In fact, I’ve clipped the quote from the paper and taped it to my computer monitor.
Thank you, Tristian, and Cierra, too, for doing the right thing. Your parents are raising beautiful children. By the way, my donation to help Trooper’s cause is on its way to Parker Paws.
