Or a glance at the arrests and you may see what happened to an old school classmate. You might see a Q&A article about Arnold Palmer, the great golfer. Being an amateur golfer, it perks your interest immediately, and you recall in your mind the sight of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player walking up to the 18th green to the sound of great applause. Three of the greatest golfers and gentlemen to play the game, a sight that the game of golf will never see again.
You read the article and learn a new fact about the new modern clubs and the old wooden shaft clubs. Arnold played the same nine holes with both the wooden shaft clubs and the modern ones, and the only difference in the score was two strokes; the modern clubs won. I could go on and on, but I think you see my point. What do you think?
In the comic strip “Pickles,” Grand Pa used the expression “Holy Cannoli.” In my younger days, that was a common expression used by almost everyone. I had forgotten about the expression until I saw it in “Pickles.” I never really knew anything about its meaning, so I looked it up. Cannoli is an Italian pastry. Italian-American men when surprised, disgusted or amazed by something would say “Holy Cannoli” in place of a bad word.
Now you have learned something you really needed to know. What do you think?
For the ladies

• The world’s most expensive wedding cake cost $52.7 million dollars. It was decorated with 4,000 diamonds. Would you take an inside cut or an outside cut? Ma’am, I’ll take a large outside cut!
