However, that deep fear never caused my mother to despair because it was counter-balanced by her firm belief in God’s mercy. Her courage was rooted in grace and it was contagious. Her faith and courage rubbed off on me in what could have been very fearful times.
Lord, thank you for our mothers and for my mother whose faith and courage taught me to pray, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.” Amen.
