u Old Fashioned Holiday Celebration at Clark Gardens Botanical Park 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 4-6, and 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 7. Hayride, evening lights, supper with Santa, pictures with Santa, nativity scene, local entertainment. Food and beverages from local vendors. u A Christmas Carol at the Church in Peaster. Shows begin nightly at 7 p.m. Dec. 5 through 10. Benefiting four local charities, Kingdom Smiles, Neighbors to Neighbors, the Center of Hope and Manna Storehouse, Inc.
u The Annual Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Christmas on the Square is held around the Historic Downtown of Weatherford, Texas from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. Shopping, local vendors, entertainment, Christmas carolers, stage performances, inflatable activities, hot chocolate, Santa Claus, carriage rides and Christmas music are featured. u Christ the King Covenant Church will hand out water, hot chocolate and cupcakes from 4 to 8 p.m. at Christmas on the Square Dec. 6. Children’s church will perform Christmas music at about 6 p.m.
u Burch School of Music Christmas on the Square ongoing concert in Parker Room at the Fire Oak Grill from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 6.
u CASA’s Breakfast with Santa, featuring pictures, storytelling, crafts, face painting and more starts at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 6, at Central Christian Church.
u Cross Timbers Cowboy Campfire Christmas at Lake Mineral Wells State Park and Trailway is set for Dec. 6. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a campfire and a program of cowboy music, poetry and sing-along with a Christmas theme.
u Christmas Open House at Millsap Community Center is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 6. Frosty the Snowman will be there along with musical entertainment and refreshments. The event is sponsored by Millsap Home and Garden Club. The Public is welcome.
u First Baptist Church Choir Christmas Program is set for 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7.
u Angel Trees are located at Weatherford Police Department, Plains Capital Bank, Weatherford National Bank, The Bank of Weatherford, Crockett National Bank, Compass Bank on the Square, Mader-Bagley Insurance, Jacy Guynes Insurance, Weatherford ISD District Services Building, Reflections Salon, Tractor Supply, Haley’s Cafe, South Main Church of Christ, All Saints Episcopal Church, City Bank, Dr. Tom Novak’s office and Parker County Courthouse Annex. The deadline to bring gifts back to the main center is Dec. 13, at 1900 Martin Drive, ste. 100. Do not return gifts at tree locations. Additional sign-up dates are Dec. 10, 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Manna on East Spring Street.
u Family Fun Night at McDonalds. Need a break from Christmas shopping? Come join a night of family fun from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at McDonalds on South Main Street. We have a great night planned! The Balloon Man will be on hand to make balloon critters for all the kiddos. There will also be a face painting booth, kid friendly music, and free ice cream cones. Crockett’s mascot, the Crockett Cub, will be joining the fun as well. Sponsored by McDonalds and Crockett PTA.
u Weatherford Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Before Business is set for 7:30 a.m. Dec. 12, at First National Bank. The event will feature the bank’s snow village display and a chance to register to win a Wii video game console. Guests are urged to bring a new unwrapped toy for kids in Parker County.
u Theater of the Square Christmas Belles will be performed at 2 and 8 p.m. Dec. 12-14, at the TOTS theater, 113 N. Denton St. For tickets of information call (817) 341-8687
u The 21st Annual Christmas Parade is Saturday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. The theme is Have a HO, HO, HO Christmas. the parade features floats the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse and Santa Claus. Parade entries must be at the staging area at the Ninth Grade Center at 10 a.m. The parade route will begin at the NGC and run north on Main and wind up at Cherry Park. The parade is organized by the Gov. Samuel W.T. Lanham Camp No. 586 Sons of Confederate Veterans. u Chandor Gardens Holiday Open House, 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 14, is open and free to the public. Live music will be performed and refreshments will be served.
u In lieu of Christmas cards or gifts, the Center of Hope is requesting residents give to the Tree of Hope. For each $10 donation, a light will be lit on the tree and the donor will receive a gift card to send to ones they wish to honor or remember. The name chosen will be listed weekly in the center’s “Tree of Hope” article in the local papers. For each donation of $100 or more, the center will turn on a star and mention the name in the article. The donation deadline is Dec. 18 for names to appear in newspaper.
