WEATHERFORD — “Saular Variations” and “Distinct Sounds” are coming to town Saturday, Feb. 2, to the Weatherford Seventh-day Adventist Church auditorium. These groups are combining their gifts and talents to inspire and thrill with Christ centered musical inspiration. The concert will last about one hour, beginning at about 11 a.m. on Saturday. The community is cordially invited to experience this unique musical treat.
The Saular Variations group play unique bamboo instruments call “Angklung” which, when harmonized, create distinct and beautiful music. Organized in 1995 at Keene, Texas, it has performed in both religious and cultural gatherings around the metroplex, Texas-wide, Oklahoma, Arkansas, as well as in Toronto, Canada.
In 2003, Distinct Sounds was born, consisting primarily of a male chorus, though enhanced by a few talented ladies. This singing group has performed in various church auditoriums around the metroplex, as well as in neighboring cities like Austin and Kerrville.
These combined musical groups invite the surrounding communities of Weatherford to “come with your family to enjoy the music with us.” The church location is 201 Eden Road in Weatherford (north side of town, one block east of North Main). More information may be obtained by calling (817) 774-5789.
