Local church to hold concert; looking for opening acts

— WEATHERFORD — Weatherford Assembly of God, Faith Family Fellowship is hosting the “For the Love of the Game Tour,” featuring Pillar, Building 429, Wavorly and Brooke Barrettsmith.
The concert is set for 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2.
Pillar has nine Christian music billboard No. 1 hits, and a Grammy nomination to their credit.
Building 429 has won Dove awards for song of the year, and new artist of the year.
Brooke Barrettsmith is a season five American Idol contestant.

The church is interested in connecting with local musicians to find artists who are capable of opening up for these shows and possibly developing industry connections.
In the past, the church has worked to sign and develop bands such as the Newsboys, Third Day, Switchfoot, Kutless, among others.
Weatherford Assembly of God broadcasts “The Joy-Ride” radio program Sunday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. on local radio QXFM.
