Trinity Chrisitian Academy defeats Arl. Fellowship

Behind the running of Caleb Jernigan and Howdy Pike, the Trinity Christian Academy Eagles defeated the Arlington Fellowship Academy Mustangs 67-42 in a game played at the Aledo Middle School, Friday. Jernigan, a junior, established two schools records, rushing for 334 yards on 28 carries and six touchdowns. In addition, Jernigan threw a 60-yard touchdown to quarterback Dustin Jacobs. Pike, a senior, rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns, on only seven carries. Pike also returned a kick-off 50 yards for another score. The Eagles ground game was effective, as the team rushed for a school record 551 yards on 47 rushing attempts. Danny Edwards, Parker Mays, Nathan Forester and Nathan Young led the Eagles’ blocking efforts. Howdy Pike led the Eagle defenders with 14 tackles, followed by Greg Lanier with 13, Jernigan and Jared McNutt with 12 each. James Figiel had 11 tackles and Marcus McCoy finished with eight. Figiel and Jernigan each recorded an interception while Pike blocked two extra point tries. McCoy recovered a fumble. The Eagles return to action Saturday, as they travel to Dallas to play Dallas Academy.



Volleyball teams take two from Stephenville

The seventh-grade C TStaff Report

The seventh-grade C Team defeated Stephenville in two games Thursday, winning over the Honeybees, 25-23, 25-13. The Lady Roos’ B Team gave the Honeybees a run for their money winning the first game 25-20, but dropped the last two games on the match, 16-25, 21-25.

The A Team’s match was extremely close, with the Lady Roos winning their first game 25-21 and taking the match with a second-game squeaker, 25-23.

The seventh graders are on the road this week to face Brewer, while the eighth-grade teams host Brewer on Thursday. The A Teams play in a Crowley tournament, Saturday.
