Lady Roos bow to Midland Lee on 9-run inning

Staff Report

The Class 5A bi-district match in Snyder looked to be a pitcher's duel through four and a half innings Friday, when Midland Lee launched a scoring barrage in the bottom of the fifth. Held scoreless through four innings by pitcher Kelsy O'Brien, the Lady Rebels used a rash of hits and a pair of Weatherford errors to turn the tide.

Though the Lady Roos scored again in the sixth and Raeven Zamarron held Lee scoreless in their final two at bats, WHS could not drum up enough offense to overcome the deficit.

The Weatherford varsity finishes their 2012 campaign as District 4-5A champions at 12-2.
