TCA edged in semifinal

Staff Report

The Trinity Christian Academy Eagles came up just two points short of extending their playoff run to the TCAF Six-Man Championship game, falling 54-52 to Azle Christian School in the semifinal at Bryson High School last Friday.

TCA entered the game as the underdog, losing to ACS in a district contest last month, 66-20. Head coach Jeff Anderson’s Eagles rebounded from last year’s 2-9 record to post a 2013 record of 8-4 and a berth in the playoffs.

Kyle Lanier passed, received and ran for 251 all-purpose yards and had 17 tackles in the semifinal match. Zach De La Cruz had 12 tackles and 258 all-purpose yards, including 163 yards on kick returns.
