Bearcat trio named to AP All-State football team



The Associated Press has selected three Aledo Bearcat players to the Class 4A All-State football roster. 

Junior tackle Cory Stitle was named to the Second Team offensive squad, with senior safety  Shea Wood receiving the nod on the Second Team defense.

Junior linebacker Jordan Mittie also received kudos, earning a spot on the Honorable Mention rolls.

The Texas High School Coaches Association also released the listings for the Class 4-A Academic All-State Football Teams, with two Aledo student-athletes,  Alex Ecklund and Eric Estill, receiving Elite status.

The criteria required to be nominated is the student  must be a senior with an overall GPA of 92 or above, (including grades 9-12 and the first six weeks of grade 12), must be a member of the team in good standing at the time of nomination and be of good moral character.
