Local academy has students toting medals from area competition

FORT WORTH —  

 

Four students from Weatherford’s Academy of Korean Martial Arts competed recently at the 32nd Annual Fort Worth International Championships, as well as, DFW International Taekwondo Championships held in Allen, bringing home eight medals from the two events. 

Garrett Hamilton is a Green Stripe belt who won three silver medals in Poomsae (forms) and sparring. Aaron Comerford is a Blue belt, earning a bronze in sparring at the Fort Worth event. Green belt Jose Patino took gold in sparring at the Allen competition. Jacob White is a Green belt who earned gold each, in Fort Worth (sparring) and Allen (forms). Jacob also took silver in sparring in Allen. The martial art athletes are directed by Master Gary White, the students’ coach and instructor.
