Summer athletic camps — June/July

Last vestige of June camps to be conducted in coming week

Staff Report

The first of Jeff Lightfoot’s two baseball fundamentals camps this summer is set for a Monday start this week and is geared for teaching diamond dwellers aged 6 through 12. The Weatherford College head baseball coach and his staff will cover a slew of baseball techniques in the 3-day camp, including hitting, fielding, proper practice techniques and much more. Lightfoot has yet another 3-day camp slated for July.

Camp offerings are still abundant in Parker County as the July sessions draw near. Most camps welcome walk-ups but interested parties should contact the camp directors ahead of time to make sure.

  • Summer athletic camps — July/August

    Staff Report

Summer athletic camps become a bit more “meaningful” in the late days of July and into  August, at least for some high school and middle school athletes.

In most cases, the youth football camps include grades 6 through 8, and though there is no contact involved, some of the instructors of he camp may be getting a preview of the talent coming their way in just a few short weeks.

Team volleyball camps, stretching from grades 4 through 12, provides a segway for many of the campers who will soon be entering workouts for the impending volleyball season.
